SPECTATORS
Join us for an exciting race day experience supporting the Super Hyak Marathon and Super Half Marathon runners.
Your encouragement means the world to participants.
Below you’ll find helpful information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable spectator experience.
-
Start Line:
Hyak Trail Head: Watch the exciting start of both the Super Hyak Marathon and Half Marathon at the Hyak Trail Head. It's a great place to see the runners off and cheer them as they begin their journey.
Snoqualmie Tunnel Entrance/Exit:
Viewing runners as they enter and exit the 2.4-mile Snoqualmie Tunnel offers a unique and memorable experience.
Finish Line (Half):
Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail: The finish line is located about 1/4 mile from the Iron Horse Alt Access Trailhead. This is the perfect spot to cheer runners as they complete their race and celebrate their achievements.
-
Encouragement: Use positive and motivating phrases like "You can do it!" or "Keep going!"
Noise Makers: Bring cowbells, clappers, or whistles to make some noise and boost the runners' spirits.
Signs: Make colorful and encouraging signs to hold up as runners pass by. Personal messages can be especially motivating.
Consistency: Keep the cheering energy up for all runners, not just the ones you know. Every runner appreciates the support.
-
Toilets: Public toilets are available at the start line (Hyak Trail Head) and at the half finish line (Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail). There is no spectator parking at the marathon finish. Portable toilets are also placed along the course at approximately every 2-3 miles.
Parking: Free parking is available at the Summit I-90 Ski Area, with a 10-minute walk to the start line. Paid parking is available at the Hyak Trailhead for $10, or free with a Washington Discover Pass.
Food and Drink: Vendors may be available at the start and finish lines, offering refreshments and snacks. It’s a good idea to bring your own water and snacks as well.
-
Finish Line Area for the Half: Join in the celebrations at the finish line area where runners will receive their medals and have access to post-race amenities.
Meet-Up Spots: Designate a meet-up spot with your runner to reconnect after the race. This helps avoid the crowds and makes it easier to find each other.
-
Stay Clear of the Course: Ensure you and your belongings do not obstruct the runners’ path. Stand back from the course and avoid crossing it during the race.
Respect Signs and Barriers: Follow any posted signs and respect barriers set up by race organizers.
Support and Encourage: Be respectful and supportive to all participants, volunteers, and other spectators.
First Aid: In case of an emergency, locate the nearest medical station or course marshal for assistance.
We look forward to seeing you on race day and truly appreciate your support of all participants. Your enthusiasm and encouragement make a meaningful impact on the runners’ experience. Thank you for being part of this exciting event!
